1990 Miss America Marjorie Vincent
Cynthia,
I don't know where to begin to tell you how your training
and calming voice of encouragement has helped me to reshape
my life. Before visiting you, I must admit that while
I worked (out as a dancer), the fuel that I gave my body was
destroying it. You have taught me the importance of eating
well and your lessons have completely changed my well being. I
loved visiting you and learning more about how to truly take
care of myself. I always looked forward to spending time
with you. It feels incredible to know for the first time
that I really do have the power to change the way I feel about
myself. You knocked every unhealthy eating habit that
I picked up from years of dance training and the notion that
I had to "eat sparingly" out of the water. You taught
me to eat well and eat plenty of those healthy foods because
that's the only way I could truly train my body to be better
at dance and any other workout. It is not an overstatement
to say that your knowledge and encouragement has changed my
self-image and outlook on life. In short, thank you!!!!

At long last, something that you have been more than deserving
of. All throughout preparation for Miss Illinois 1993 and for
Miss America 1995- you helped me tremendously, with advice,
discipline, and support. Thank you. You and Peter not only prodded
but educated me. Again, I am truly grateful.

Please accept this plaque on behalf of myself as well as the
Miss Illinois organization. I can't tell you how much it means
to know that you're not only interested in preparing "Miss
Illinois" for Miss America, but you're preparing us to
lead a healthy lifestyle. You are so contagious and if I had
to catch something from someone I'm glad it was you! Thank you
for making me harder on myself than I already was!
Be blessed this year and the years to come.
